Circa Lighting Warehouse Sale

Treasures found:

Venetian 6 arm Chandelier: in hand rubbed antique brass

Elkins Clamp on Table Lamp: in hand rubbed antique brass

Dixon Table Lamp: base in hand rubbed antique brass

I have a slight obsession with antiqued brass right now. I'm not sure if they are for me or for clients. Inventory for now until they find a home!

Elfster - Secret Santa Website

Do you do Secret Santa? Tim's family has an annual Secret Santa with their best family friends. It's always a hoot. Last year Tim got a cowboy costume because we were moving to Texas. We were dying laughing as he pulled out spurs, a gun, bandanna and hat! Tim's Dad Leo got a 'superhero in a box'. It's always hilarious, and a lot of fun. I think it was last year when we were in the midst of opening our Secret Santa gifts, and after a whole day of champagne, that we thought we should invent the website that draws your Secret Santa name for you. You know, so someone doesn't have to be in charge of making sure no one drew themselves and someone doesn't have to mail little pieces of paper with names on them all over the country. Oh yeah, we're a whole group of entrepreneurs aren't we?!

Well, who knows how many years Elfster has been around, but this year we used it, and no, we didn't invent it. The first question, "Have you been naughty or nice?". Naughty? Check! Nice? Sometimes!

We just got our names emailed to us this week, I already bought my present for my little elf. It's a blast. If you're into S.S, check out this website and happy shopping!

Late Check In Gift Guide

I love all of these gift guides floating around blogland. There are so many great ideas, thanks bloggers for helping us out! Here at Late Check In, I have only one gift suggestion this year. The Help, by Kathyrn Stockett. Have you read it? Am I totally late to the party on this one? Get it for your mom, sister, friend, dad, husband, grandmother, whoever. It rocks. During the past six days, I couldn't put it down, which is why I haven't been blogging, sorry!

Thanksgiving Luncheon - Ina Style

I've got one today with the ladies from work. I'm making Ina Garten's roasted butternut squash salad with warm cider vinaigrette. I love this salad during the winter. I also love Ina's kitchen. Sorry I've been so busy! I might not be coming back until next February, no just kidding. But I have been a little preoccupied lately with this house!

Wreath 'How To'

Here's a little project I've been working on...Get one of these 16-18'' wire wreath frames from here.
Find some preserved boxwood, magnolia leaves (actually I used preserved lemon leaves), and other orange berry stick type things. I know the name of the plant I used was on my receipt which is somewhere lost in my wallet, sorry! I picked up my boxwood and lemon leaves (and actually some dried juniper for some other projects) at a local wholesale craft shop and the fresh orange berry twigs came from local wholesale flower warehouse. Gotta have a wreath hanger and that wire will become your new best friend. Don't forget the wire cutter!
And...Voila! After Thanksgiving, when I start to get more Christmasy I'm going to remove the orange berries and add some pomegranates using floral pics, oh and maybe a big gold bow for fun!

I highly recommend listening to Motown Christmas on Pandora when participating in these Christmas craft activities!
